Emily Harwitz is a writer and filmmaker who works at the nexus of science and art to catalyze social and environmental change. Trained as a scientist and journalist, she also draws from her experience working in conservation and the outdoors to tell stories that inform, inspire, and rebuild connection with the beauty of nature we're all part of.

She recently co-created a short film as a Jackson Wild 2023 Media Lab Fellow that showed at Jackson Wild. Her work has appeared in The Atlantic, Hakai Magazine, High Country News, and more.

Emily is a former ambassador for Girls Who Click, a non-profit that supports and promotes girls and women in conservation photography, and she hosts and produces a podcast in conversation with environmentalists from all walks of life who protect, steward, and build community in the outdoors.
